The grind on the Busse is flat on one side and convex (aka 'appleseed', aka 'Moran') on the other side, NOT concave (hollow grind).

Ok, so I learn 2 things in one thread.

Chipping is a big deal. Thank you Cliff for pointing that out to me, I probably would have reached that conclusion sooner or later but now I'm better educated. I appreciate your setting me straight.

Walt, yup, I'm a dumbass, next time I'll look at the paperwork instead of relying on my brain...

Spark; I am wounded! I never said you were a dumb ass. First of all, it was Mike who set ME straight about the edge, and secondly, even when you have the blade in your hand, it is not immediately apparent which is which. BTW, educate me. Which is intended to be the leading and which the trailing edge if one is cutting in the preferred manner?
