Mad for Micarta Picture Thread

I've always loved Micarta, my favorite being the Green/Brown that Bob Loveless favored, over red liners. These three are in my collection;

It's been a while since I've had any fresh Micarta to share, but a couple days ago my new KW exclusive 551-1702 arrived with very nice black paper Micarta scales. I was a little underwhelmed at first as the scales are so similar in appearance to stock Grips, but it sure doesn't take long in hand for the feel of Micarta to let you know how vastly superior it is.

This is a very understated piece, but just totally solid, handsome, and a great working knife.

Edit: I was just taking out a typo and thought I might as well mention that this one comes with an M390 blade. One of my favorite steels along with a favorite scale material is awful hard to beat. :cool:

Hey! New to the forum, new collector. I know this is an old post and it would take a few minutes, but any chance you’d be willing to share the makes and models of these knives and their respective micarta types? This is the most compelling group I’ve seen. Thx for considering.

IMHO micarta is the best material for knife handles. Look and feel! Was missing this thread. Thanks to all for your pics!!

It's nice to see this over-two-years-old thread re-awakened. I know there's lots of Micarta out there and lotsa love for it too, so I'd be pleased to see more traffic over here again with y'all showing off your Micarta beauties.

Here's one I picked up earlier this year off the Exchange. I generally favor larger knives, but this little guy is pretty good in hand for a wee'un, has an M390 blade, and of course just super natural canvas Micarta grips.

I can’t post pictures yet but I am especially impressed by GEC’s natural micarta. My newest two are the 2019 CK Barlow and the 86 oil field jack knife l really love how smooth they feel in hand
