Mad for Micarta Picture Thread

I’m by no means anti micarta, but can someone explain to me why micarta is so loved? I’ve had micarta and liked it ok but I was never enamored with it. What do you like so much about it?

For me, I just love the feel, the look as it patinas with age n use! Its easily cleaned back to looking new if you want. It shrugs off most anything that would cause a slippery feeling too.
If I can get green canvas for a knife eventually I'll get it...
