MKM goccia.. Made in Maniago, Italy. Anso design!! Nice.knife!πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘

Thinking of our friend James, I thought I'd post here first today after a doing bit of maintenance to a favorite knife I got out after catching up at The Bears' Den this morning.

It was bath day the Python. Aside from the knockout visual pattern of these scales, something I really enjoy is the feel and grip of their very open, uncoated canvas scales. Of course this makes them highly susceptible to darkening, clouding, and slicking up a bit after being in my oily hands after a number of carries. I took off the clip for better access for the nail brush and Dawn liquid to do its job, and you can see how nasty things look in comparison to the small protected area.

Things look way better after an initial cleaning, but you can see I still missed a spot along the bottom.

I didn't really notice until editing this and my other pics after drying, oiling, reassembling, and touching up the edge. I gave it a bit of spot cleaning--there, that's better.

Of course it's got another side too. You'll also notice, that while the lighting makes bit of difference in pics, that the scales' coloration literally looks a little washed out now. It usually takes about one day of carry to get a little hand oil back into the Micarta to make the colors pop, then a bunch more days of use before the old snake needs another bath.

My much ignored messed up Yojimbo 2 is FINALLY getting some OD green micarta scales and titanium hardware.

They should be here soon so I can once again participate

Sadly, my PM2 seems to be a casualty of the TSA. It was the least well hidden in my checked bags.
