Every once in a while I see a post in here of somebody getting ripped off. I hate to see that, so I just thought I would give a few examples of people who I have had very good luck with. A few weeks ago I sold knives to the people listed. I sent the knives out before any money was ever recieved. All the money showed up quickly as promised. In the last week I sold some more to md2020. I did not hesitate to send the knives (and believe me, there was a bunch) to him before the payment arrived. Naturally the money showed up very quickly as promised. I know it can be a little scary selling knives and hoping you get what was agreed on in return, but those listed in the subject title have turned out to be very fair and honest. Any time I have knives for sale and they want to buy them, I feel no need to wait for the money first, I will send send the knives immdiatly because I know they are trust worthy. Thanks all for being a pleasure to deal with.

Richard

Rich,

No, it should be Me thanking YOU. I have gotten some awesome buys from you. It helps of course, too, that we have chatted quite a bit in IRC

.

I have send items out before payment arrives, but it depends on the circumstances. Repeat buyers, or sellers are never a problem. Money orders are nice, but I have taken several checks without ever having a problem.
After a while you recognize people's names...lol. I like to think of BF as a big extended family.

There are a few guys I have delt with that I have to mention: yourself (Richard-T), Excalibur, and John Johnson. No offense to the other 20++ guys who I have done business with one or twice before.

In some ways this is BAD - we all help each other out with our knife addictions....LOL.

I figure you should be able to trust a Forumite! Thanks for the attaboy!

You might have a good idea here;why not dealers posting stuff like this?It would make it easier on fellow dealers,or more to the point, private sellers, and buyers.

i would agree that dealers maybe should tell there exsperiances with forum members.
however i think our biggest problem comes from the fact that we end up getting real names in most cases. the nick names that we choose in here dont always tell other people who we are dealing with. we hide behind a mask so to speak. but for instance i know maddog2020/nakano2,and i believe me and copfish have at least spoken on an occasion. but the list is abosolutely endless with the amount of forum people that i deal with and never know there masked name. but to make a long story short i think theres an answer as to why we dont post anything on all the forum memebers alone. the gentlemen ive spoken of here however are at the top of the list in my book. fact me and maddog2020 have more of a friendship then a business relationship. thanks all for your time.

Mark/MJS,

Thanks for the comments.

I have ordered from a lot of internet dealers. I have a couple of favorites that I use. Great prices help, BUT the people that you talk to will make or break the company. I wouldn't buy from some one even if they were selling it at COST, if I felt they weren't treating me right. In this day and age with online ordering and stuff, you lose the personal side of making friends with people at companies. I remember when Mark/MJS got beat up a couple of months back: I contacted him to say that I didn't think he was doing anything wrong and that some folks are just abusive when it comes to business ($).

I still like to call and talk with a person instead of sending an e-mail. We all get busy, but we have to make the effort to keep the human side to everything. I have made many friends here at BF, and have gotten to know even more folks in BF IRC chat . For those of you who haven't tried it - load the software, and give it a shot. Most folks come one after 8pm EST. There are even FAMOUS knife makers there!

Lots of dealers and forum moderators, too. The topic isn't always knives of course.....LOL. Some of the topics are history, muzak (music), food, and family. Good time for all
