Made a decision.......BK17!!!

I went with the BK15 initially, but the 17 is by far my favorite. I think because its likeness to the air force survival knife. It's a good all around size to tackle just about any small task. Sure you wont be able to process a lot of wood with it, but that is what a hatchet is.

I would like to get a 17 myself someday and then mod it into a "dress knife" of sorts. You know, like one to wear to weddings and such, one that will match my suit.

I'm thinking, strip and polish. Then spine filework, grind off the pommel and do a touch of reshaping on the handle.
Imitation ivory scales, brass corby bolts, and finally a leather sheath.

Do you mean taking the basic BK17 and making it into something like this?



Because if so that's the same idea I had. But instead of reshaping the pommel I'd try and see if anybody could make custom grips to fit the established profile, and pin them on.
