I decided to put together a long display cabinet to house a few of my fixed blades. This is what I wound up with:

It's 10 inches deep, 10 tall, and 4 feet long. It has a LED light strip inside for the accent lighting, and the front hinges open to the top for accessing the knives.

As of right now, it is housing the following:
2 Backwoods Customs (thanks Bill!)
1 Jim Parker custom
1 Jim Coffee hunter (thanks Jim!)
2 Shadow Knives customs (Thanks Eddie and Lora!), one model IX hunter, and one double edge necker in blue G10
1 copy of a fur trader's knife from a local maker
1 antler handled "reenactor's" knife from a local maker
1 Randall 2-7
1 Case Rio Grande camp knife

I plan on putting a row along the bottom edge of the back comprised of my nicer slipjoints sometime soon. Overall, I'm quite pleased with how it came out.

Thanks for looking!

Very nice. Thanks for sharing.

A suggestion: To put yellow lights in to highlight different accents and hues.

That is freakin beautiful man. Honestly can't think of a nicer way to display knives.

Sadly mine are just in drawer.

Very nice work! fwiw, I know nothing about knife display cases, but I think you should modify the lighting ... more uniform from end to end, adjust angles, adjust color, lower intensity. I'll see if I can find a pic or two.

Also, beautiful knives! :)

One of the nicest instances of display case lighting I could think of was the Costco jewelry display case lighting. Saw it today in fact and marveled at how great it looked. Here's an article I found while googling.

I realize that knives and jewelry require different lighting, but maybe it'll give you some ideas.

Very nice, I kinda like that one on the bottom right :-) Hope to see more of mine go in that case someday. Thank you for your business.

That's so much nicer than having them in a cardboard box in the closet. Nice work!
I need to do that!

Oh don't you fret about that, Jim. As soon as possible, I'll be contacting you about a little project I have in mind.

Thanks for the compliments everyone. Next week I'll be picking up a 2nd 18" led light bar to even out the lighting in the case. I'm going to experiment with changing the tint to the lighting like in the above links to see what I can come up with.

Very nice work Parke!

So many different skill sets and ideas abound on this forum.

Too bad your display case is practically the size of my bedroom:o
