This is a spark plug distance measurer and you can get them from autozone of whereever.

I used a file and a drill to shape the steel. Works awesome, I torqued it to the max and it works fine...

No need to spend 60.00 on a atwood prybar for only getting the spanner use of it, this thing only costs like a couple of bucks and some elbow grease...

Hey Jimmy...

Glad you saved yourself $58.00 but now you have a spark plug gap guage that only works on Striders.. :)

I'd rather have the Prybaby personally...

Yeah, me too, and I don't even own a Strider.

Now...wait a minute, I DO have a prybaby, but no Strider. I guess I'll have to buy a Strider knife. But.....then I will have to buy another Prybaby----the Spannerbaby...Does it never end?:D

Best Regards,

So what do you gap a Strider at anyway?:D I'm a garage do-it-yourselfer too. Glad things worked out. Nothing's worse that putting in time on a project and it goes to S... right at the end.:grumpy:

you can also use a fork. just bend the teeth apart a little bit.

This may sound like an incredibly dumb question, but what is that thing used for?

Thanks. Strider can't even include a tool to adjust the pivots on their knives?

Here's one from the Atwood sight.

Lots of interesting items on that sight http://www.phlaunt.com/atwoodknives/

I think it's retarded that they even need a spanner wrench to adjust the pivot screw. Way to make things over complicated and difficult. They could have just used Torx or a flat head or anything.

I tend to agree. It always made sense to me to do it the way Ernie does on his Emerson knives with standard screw heads. I do not recommend breaking down a folder in the field though. Seems like a recipe for loosing screws for sure doing that so a non standard tool like a torx doesn't bother me much but for a $400 knife I always thought that the spanner was included. Are you guys saying that costs extra? .

heck i am not sure strider even sells a spanner to adjust them much less supply one w/the knife lol.

everyone on the strider forum told me to get a spanner baby, am sure they are neat but i was just wanting to adjust my pivot and $60 is kinda high for that, might get one though.
