Went up to my sis in laws to cut some underbrush off of some of her property. Found some fatwood and some dry grass,made a little fuzz stick and with a little help from my bic had a good fire gouing in a few minutes. Burned alot of the dead stuff. Sorry no pics did'nt think I would need my camera.

I think most of us carry a BIC or some similar butane lighter but tend to focus more on other methods which we percieve to be more difficult and supposedly requiring more practice. I tried to light a fire to burn brush the other day using a BIC and realized that I should probably do some practicing with THAT! It took several attempts and I could have had a blaze more quickly using my flint and steel.
Then, an important point that you just made in your post occured to me - that I was not giving myself the advantage of proper tinder; thoughtlessly leaving out that stage simply because I already had a flame. Dug some jute and fatwood out of my pocket and did it right.
