"Made In China" gets such a bad rap, but do you have any good knives that are Made In China??? Please show and tell.

As for me, I just bought three knives that I'm sure are MIC and they are all less than $10, just waiting on delivery and crossing my fingers.

My friend had a kershaw brawler MIC and he said its even better quality than his MIUS Kershaw Knockout which he claimed to be a pos lol

I'm pretty impressed with these two from Kershaw, the Compound and Tremor. I think I paid $14 for the Compound and $19 for the Tremor.

One the other end of the price scale , this Boker Epicenter is the most expensive Chinese import I've bought to date. Solid titanium Frame lock for $125

it really depends on who made it in china. if it is the china cheap run then it is a POS. if it is a name brand china then they have to make it up to there spec of the knifes they want to sale. Paul Chein swords are made in china and there it nothing cheap about them.

Good knives under 10 bucks are rare, regardless of place of origin. So you may not be getting a junk Chinese knife, you may be getting a junk $10 knife.

I would say a ten dollar knife will be junk regardless of origin. For me personally the whole China issue is more than just quality. I try my best purchasing USA products as much as possible irregardless.

Some China-made knives are good, some are not. Quality depends on the manufacturing facility, not the country.

A lot of the bad rap is more from a "design" perspective than a quality perspective.

My Cold Steel Gurkha Kukri was made in China, not Taiwan, and the quality is impeccable. It’s an incredible blade, but wasn’t at all cheap either. Factories can make things to whatever standard they choose regardless of where they’re located. There was a time when things made in Japan were considered junk. How times change:) Take care.

My Tenacious is what started it all and instilled the passion I now have for knives. I learned how to sharpen with it and managed to take a nick off the tip(damn trying to stop right at the tip on the sharpmaker when I was learning!) but it now cuts like a laser. It really offers phenomenal value for the money.

kershaw's budget line are awesome, and they're made in China. I've got too many of them to post pics of, tbh-Burst, Clash, OSO Sweet, Kuro, Crown, Asset, Tremor, Compound, Half Ton

Also, Spyderco's Byrd line, plus the Tenacious/Resilience/Persistence group, all great knives.

I don't have much experience with Enlan, but they're pretty well liked too, and I certainly am happy with my EL04MCT...

From the MIC Knives I own, I can easily recommend these:

Kershaw: Clash - OSO Sweet - Tremor - Asset - Half Ton - Grant County

CRKT: Cruiser

Sanrenmu: 710 - 734

Cold Steel: GI Tanto

Kabar: Acheron

I have the tenacious' little brother the persistence and love it. I was a little skeptical about the china made knife but I figure for around $30 I wasn't gonna break the bank if I didn't like it and low and behold its really well made. its the best china made I have seen so far, no complaints what so ever

I would say you're wrong. Good <$10 knives can be found quite easily. China's economic powerhouse made this price point widely possible, though there are examples from other parts of the globe, including the US.

As pointed out, when a knife is made to a good spec, it turns out good. It isn't magic or geography or political barriers that affects the formula.

Aside from the examples previously stated almost any of the MOCs that AG Russell sells are well done and priced reasonably. The quality is good because AG makes considerable effort to get things made to his standards.

Wouldn't get my hopes up. Odds of getting anything decent for $10 are pretty slim, but you might get lucky.

srm made stuff isn't junk and some can be bought for right around 10 bucks on some models...not including shipping of course. even sal at spyderco said srm knows what they are doing......of course he didn't say it exactly like that as it isn't a direct quote, but you get the point.

agree though if i have the money i like american made.

I have a Boker Gnome. No complaints. It even has the first run of sheaths that almost wouldn't let go of the knife the first time. LOL I also have a CRKT Folts Minimalist and RSK Mk5 that A.G. Russell lists as being made in China. No complaints about either of them, either.

China is quite capable of turning out a world class product at an attractive price. I gave my wife a Spyderco/Byrd 'Catbyrd' to use as a beater knife. She put the knife through hell. When it got dirty, it went into the dishwasher for cleaning. At this point, there is not a spot of rust and the knife still powers through vegetables, without having the blade re-sharpened. The 8Cr13MoV steel is a winner in my books. In fact, I was so impressed with the Catbyrd, that I bought a second one along with a Titanium Catbyrd.
