Made In China...

china makes so very good switchblades and they make some very crappy ones too. the USA does the same thing. I think it comes down to who the make is. some brands that are made in the USA are nothing but junk.

There is no one in the World who can make better knives than the Case/Bose knives and for U. S. made knives the prices are indeed fair.

srm made stuff isn't junk and some can be bought for right around 10 bucks on some models...not including shipping of course. even sal at spyderco said srm knows what they are doing......of course he didn't say it exactly like that as it isn't a direct quote, but you get the point.

agree though if i have the money i like american made.

I prefer American made for sure as Im sure we all do but I have a few SRM that i bought just to carry at work because I beat the crap out of them and unfortunately sometimes loose them and I must say that they are well made and have held up way beyond my expectations.

I've been into more traditional knives as of late, but Rough Rider certainly has swayed me to not forsake outsourced products. CRKT, and their Drifter, is a more contemporary knife of Chinese origin that has my respect, as do the Byrd knives by Spyderco, as well as the Tenacious. The imported Kershaws are great too. They've got knifemaking down in China, and are putting out great knives, at reasonable prices.

I just received my first China made knife today, a Boker Federal and its very impressive for a $150 knife, let alone one made overseas.

The only flaw I can find is the blade is a tad off center but I'm not the kind of person who cares unless it affects the operation of the knife.

I'll never own a knife made in China.
But I don't believe in knocking people that do buy them(or people that would never have one).
A person has the right to buy what they want for whatever reason they may have, and thats a good thing.
