I would appreciate if you guys could recommend some good slip joint brands that are STILL manufactured in the US.

If they make knives in the U.S. as well as overseas -can you give me any tips for tracking down the US made varieties online?

Off of the top of my head I can think of:

Case
Buck (any slips?)
Schrade (still US made?)
Remington (?)
Camillus (?)
Others???

Thanks for the help:)

P.S. -I have nothing against other countries knives, I would just like to add some U.S. made knives to my collection.

Buck makes the 30X series in Idaho. (301, 303, 309..)

Canal Street makes their own parts, but they did buy some tooling from Queen.

Thanks you guys.

I had always wanted to know which models buck made in Idaho. They have so many nice slip joint patterns. -thanks

GEC has to be the best american maker going these days, just buy one and see if you don't agree, if you don't I'll take it off your hands.

Could it be that CASE belongs to this list of USA makers.

Edit Sorry I saw it on the list after posting here.

Bosse

Schrades are now manufactured over seas. The U.S versions are still available though if you do a little lookin. Usually at a decent price too

Camillus went down in 07 and the loss of Yello Jakets was a sad day for American(and world)cutlery.

Bulldog might count as some of their knives are made on contract by GEC the rest are German I suppose.

Thanks willgoy. I have been looking into bulldog. Good to know at least some are made here.

I think I heard not too long ago that Buck is bringing the production of all thier knives back to the U.S of A.

If true, I can only wonder if that includes production of the patterns made in China like the canie and the others of that ilk. That would be nice, a larger selection of traditnal patterns from a American maker.

That's a pretty safe offer to make. My first one (A #53 Northfield stockman) showed up in the mail today.

I think I'm in love. Gorgeous, gorgeous knife. Can't wait to use it.
