Edited to include a finished photo:

I had a Case XX stockman with broken backsprings, a Colonial with two broken blades but good backsprings and the blade out of a Kutmaster Muskrat, and a friend gave me the spikes off of a deer he killed a couple years ago so......I thought why not try to make a couple primitive folders out of all this stuff?? I am not a knifemaker as the photo will attest but they work :) ....and it's much better than a pile of parts. What ya think? I think I may have created folders similar to what people carried in 1644 :D

Wow. I love it! Any pics of them open?

Very, very cool. Did you cut the antler into two pieces or just cut a slot (like an Opinel)?

Cut it in half. Had originally planned to do it like a German Okapi but figured I needed a good backspring and I didn't know how to install one without cutting in half.

Good work. Beware this pocket knife making........It is addictive and it will make you not want to think about anything else.....

Very nice work. I enjoy seeing homemade folders. Just so few of them compared to fixed blades

Excellent mods, and very rustic looking knives.

Very cool!
