Here is few I think you will like. All these blocks are $30 each and a small flat rate box in the CONUS will hold 4 blocks for $6. If you buy more than 4, then I will pay for shipping. If you need International shipping we can work something out. If you have questions please PM. Thanks Larry
First up is some very nice Madrone Burl Blocks (DRY WITH NO CRACKS) . These have great color and will need to be stabilized before you use them. I like these dyed black or ebonized, but they look great in clear as well. Second pic was taken outside so you can see the color better. These are approx 1.25" thick and a little under 2" wide by 5.25 long
Next up we have some Curly Ebony. These are curly Mexican Ebony ( Katalox ) blocks from Yucatan peninsula. These do not need stabilizing and are ready to go on your blade now. Little bit O' curl on these.
The blocks are dry in the pics by the way. These are approx 1" x 2" x 5"
Further clarification on this wood ----> Katalox, known botanically as swartzia cubensis and sometimes called "Mexican Ebony" is hard wood with a tight grain. This is an extremely useful wood for many woodworking projects, including bowls and cutting boards. There are many uses for this fine, dark, and strong wood, including cabinets and flooring. An exotic wood native to Central America, is stronger than Teak, white oak, and even Hard Maple. The exceptionally dense grain makes it not only harder and tougher, but also MUCH HEAVIER than most hardwoods used in woodworking projects like cutting boards. There are also some who DO NOT consider this a "true ebony", and it is viewed as an ebony substitute used for things like fret boards and other parts in musical instruments.
Lastly, we have some really nice Black Ash Burl. These were already PROFESSIONALLY stabilized by WSSI, so these are ready to go on your blade. This is rare American burl with great color and lots of action in each block. These are approx 1" x 2" x 5.25" (couple blocks are smaller, PM if you want exact specs on a specific block)
