Maex - Barstard's bush knife

Here is a pic, rather poor cell phone pic of my Saex/Machete= Maex made for my pickup. Started as one and ended up as a usefull between. You don't get the benefit of the blemishes where my knuckles caught some moving parts.

12c27 with paracord wrapped and three layers of diluted epoxy.



Done some hacking and brush clearing. Cuts like a demon. Needs a little weight forward so I might take the neck down a bit.

Took the neck down with a belt sander sunday afternoon, looks neater with a better balance and forward weight. I has replaced my short sword, no good for anything other than defense, for the car.

My admiration for the cutlers on this forum has risen enormously. To provide what they make, looking so easy, is a real art.
