I was looking into ordering a Blade magazine Sunscription. Does anybody have one, is it recommended. I have read that it is just a book with some add's. I hope that was just an angry cutomer.

Blade is all right. The knifemaker profiles can be interesting and the pictures are superb. You have to take the reviews with a big-ass grain of salt though. It wouldn't do to make the advertisers angry you see.

As to your question ScubaSteve, I've subscribed for years and I've found that Blade, like any other magazine has it's share of hit and miss articles. Over-all I'd give it an 8 on a scale of 1-10. To me the best way to learn about cutlery is to hang around this place. Hope that helps.

If you like knives then there are not that many places to turn. I agree that there are hits and misses but of the other knife mags that are out there I find Blade to be on top. Just my 2 cents...again

I intend to renew my subscription when it expires. I just can't get enough of those Dark Ops ads! Seriously, I feel the magazine is worth the subscription price.
