Maybe they thought he was a demon, and the Forum could act as a portal into our homes. If someone made him angry, he might kill us all with his samurai steel. Then who would be left to buy the knives?

Was clearly a financial decision.

I heard if you dropped one of his $3800 knives, it would bore clean through the earth and come out in China... then, a martial arts deity would clean & resharpen it and bring it back to you. :rolleyes:

I know him, have met and talked with him. He makes a fine knife.

For that much money I could hire a whole gang of guys who had their own knives and would cut up anything I told them to - and bury the pieces.
 
In seriousness I would add this - A while back a friend and I were talking about music. She said she didn't like this performer's lifestyle or what he stood for.

I asked, "well, do you like the music?" She said, "yes, I love it."

So the question was posed, is it the artist or the art that you are appreciating?

Maybe he is a handful as a human being. But maybe his knives really are something out of the ordinary. Certainly there have been posts about magical HI blades, and honestly I believe them. I just think some things are done better than others and once in a while something truly magnificient comes out.


I actually like the style of his knives, and have had his website bookmarked for a while. I don't think I would ever buy one, because of the price, but I would be curious to handle one for a week or two, get to know it.

Just my $.02.

No complaints from here. If 'pride goeth before the fall', he's been falling so long he's on his way back up.
 
I'd rather spend that money on a semi-custom/custom 1911 or a nice bolt action...


Edit: does look kinda sharp though.. :D

I like the idea of a magic blade cutting through the Earth, being sharpened by a Master when it arrives, and sent back again. Two Masters playing a game of catch. The Earth as Swiss Cheese.

Good riddance. It looks like he makes a good knife, and is well respected for it. And I can understand a few newbie mistakes regarding the sales policy. Threatening violence on those who ask you to support your wild claims with evidence, though, is over the line. Well done.
