MAGIC.....I like this stuff...

I have the little stove. I use the wind guard for my alcohol stove as well.

they have ferro rod and fatwood kits!!!!

the products are pretty inexpensive too....the magic wick was 1.99 for pack of 4 and 30 min burn time...i asked about the ferro rod kits and they are like 14.00 for the kit with striker and rod and fatwood and the carrying case!

i am not sure if that is what it is....it sure doesnt smell ike it...it smells like parrafin...all it is, is a paper cup with thin wood shavings mixed with parrafin and a waterproof wick...looks easy enough to copy....i think i will try it soon....

and i got one to burn for 47 minutes....if you cant get a fire going in 30+ minutes you never needed to be outside anyways!

You can make something similar with candle wax, pine shavings and cupcake papers.

My wife makes candles and makes something like these with excess wax. I think she bought a bag of pine shavings at a craft store.

I do something similar with wax, dryer lint or sawdust, and paper egg cartons. Then I can rip off as many as I want to carry at a time. The carton lights easily and acts as a built-in wick. They're easy to make and makes use of old candle stubs, lint, and egg cartons that are all normally discarded items.

I just got back for Meijer's and they had this stuff (Fatwood), from the above posted link, in their camping section. $5.00. Same as on their web site, but no shipping costs! :-)
They had the magic wick also, but I didn't buy it cuz my kid HAD to have a Power Ranger!
