A knife with a blade that vibrates so fast it can cut through virtually any material. The blade vibrates so fast that you won't be able to tell it is vibrating with the naked eye. A small, USB-C chargeable hyper-motor that fits into the handle. Blade metal TBD.

I had to ask as I have written about a sub-optimal cutomer service experience I had with RandallMade back in 2003 04 '04. The issue then ws me asking them to do some glint supressing treatment to a #16 special fighter to be given to an active duty Marine about to deploy to Iraq. At that time, they had no interest in doing anything to flatten the signature Randall high polish.

At the time I posted my displeasure here, I got some push back .

For me M4 is pretty much there.
3V really turns my crank because I feel like I can grind it even thinner (1mm or even less for a pocket folder )and not be concerned with it breaking off .

. . . sooooooo . . . hmmm since I have yet to break 15V or REX 121 :
I couldn't give two cents for corrosion resistance so fairly low Chromium ~ 4% works well for me.
High vanadium is cool but seems to limit my stupid sharp polished edges a little in the long run so put in something similar that doesn't fall to a "working sharp" edge as fast (sure I polish the Vanadium with diamonds but . . .
Scads of Tungsten ; some how the alloys with lots of Tungsten makes me smile the longest .
Make it able to easily polish the sides of the knife at the factory like the Boker Black Ceramic blades ; polished main grinds sail through work with less horsepower .
Make it as easy to sharpen as 15V or REX 121 ( I have no problem with that but sharpening ceramic is a PITA ).

o o o o h h hhhh and lastly make it take the nice fairly dark blue patina that I get on my Case Carbon Steel blades using Golden Kiwi ! ! ! Basically gun metal blue without all the poison .

If it doesn't hold the stupid sharp edge as long as M4 then just forget the whole dambed business .
I need me my M4 edges most .

What was the end result?
 
So tough that you can baton other steel blocks with it, yet holds an edge better than tungsten carbide, and still can be sharpened and polished on any stone...

It's more stainless than H1 and H2, but will easily take any patina in case that user desires it.

The magic steel would be infinitely tough and infinitely hard. Hold an edge no matter what it cut, but could be bent into a pretzel and not break. It never chips, stays razor sharp so it never has to be sharpened, and so tough you could pound it through anything and it wouldn’t break.
 
Not steel at all since it seems like the maximal toughness/edge retention curve has been reached already. Flexible ceramics with carbides seems to be the next actually attainable step. Current ceramics already have more edge retention than steel but are lacking in toughness.
