Maglights

Uhm, no.......

vote in for "worthless thread of the year award"

Yeah, I only carry a 3W 3AA around with me at all times because I never know when I'm going to meet someone who'll be impressed when I whip it out and say, "See this? It's useless!" and whack him upside the head with the butt end.

Use the 4D MagLED......

It seems to leave a much better
impression :p :D

Oh, BTW -
they are MagLites (and not MagLight)

I have the 3 AAA LED. Nice flashlight. I am considering getting 2 of the 2 D cell to replace my current car maglites. I do really appreciate your thorough review and explanation of the issues you are having.

Bread is pretty useless too. Stop eating it.

Come to think of it, TP's are pretty USELESS!

Stop wasting paper, dammit. Use your friggin' fingers and just wash up!

That wastes water. Just drag your ass on the ground like a dog.

Headed for W&C...

BTW, the AA MagLite is a fantastic light for the money. Water proof, durable, strong adjustable beam, and available anywhere.

The led models are great for the price. They are definitely a lot better than this senseless post.

The bigger they are, the better they are. For small pocket carry, I had to dumb maglite. They are good overall.

To make the 2AA Mini-MagLite more useful - try the MJLED -

Here's a nice page on them -

http://home.mchsi.com/~lambda_lights/smjled.htm

Unfortunately Lambda seems to be sold out of the MJLED -
but the Sandwich Shoppe seems to have plenty of them - including the nice PR-2 versions.

Some of my reviews -

super MJLED drop-in for MiniMag 2AA

MJLED drop-in for MiniMag 2AA

and Post #90 for the PR2 MJLED (which fit the 2D or 2C MagLites)

My vote is in also. I love the 3 AA led maglight. This light "outshines" a lot of much more costly lights. the beam is practically flawless and it has a throw that is just unreal.

A lot of the LED Mag lights have been winding up in the Walmart clearance aisle----I've picked up a few good deals for the car lately.

Try the more expensive LED replacement on a 4 D Mag, it throws a nice narrow spot with a good amount of overspill, you could read by from 100 yards.

New life for old 4 cell Mags, I have a few 2 AA they're alright but you need at least 4 1/2 VDC, (6VDC is much better) to really see the difference.

Sure, they aren't high performance lights, but I am willing to subject my maglites to things that I wouldn't subject a $75 flashlight too. And, they are pretty handy, especially as our friend posted, when converted to LED.

I cant think of much of anything with exception to the sight of a firearm, sound of a 12 guage being ratched up..... then someone beholding my ancient 6 cell C Maglight.fight stopper and legal for everyone everywhere anytime!

I love that cat! lol! :D

I've had a 3D Mag for at least 15 years, even dropped it off the truck and rolled over it once and it still works 100%.

I treasured my old 2AA Mag that I got at the same time as the 3D till I recently got a couple of the 3AA MagLED's. Holy Crap! It throws more light than my 3D! And a handy baton if ever needed. ;) Might have to convert the old 3D to LED, I'm hooked. :D

I used to take my 6 D cell maglight looking for burglars when the alarm went off at my Inn. It could also light up the car park and half the village.

Also have a 2 x AA maglight, a 2 x D cell Maglight and a new C cell maglight with LED conversion. I love them all and at least you can buy spare parts and the cap holds a spare bulb!

Compared to some of the more modern guns out there, the old 1911 is outdated and therefor useless. If something goes bump in the night, are you going to grab a baseball bat over the 1911 because its old school?

If something works, it works. A '55 Chevy with the inline 6 and three on the tree won't keep up with a Honda Accord, but it will get you where you're going.:D

I like my mag lights. I want to convert my 4 D maglite into an led. But I have only seen the 3D led conversion kit available around here. Bulb failier is the drawback of the maglite, and they do fail easily when dropped. The led conversion would make it one of the best lights available. I use rechargeable NiMH batteries in both the AA light and the 4D. Sure puts out a good light for a long time.
