It has taken me a while, but I finally got a Magna with aluminum handles and plain blade.Wow! What a blade!Almost the exact size of the Spyderco Military with a 4" blade. The first blade in a long time to really earn the "hair poppin'"phrase. This baby is sharp! No blade play in any direction. The action is smooth as a baby's butt, much smoother than some folders I have three times the money invested in!No grit at all.Solid locking, liner lock in the left quarter. Open, the Magna feels more like a straight knife than a folder.Solid.I once sat in a Rolls Royce, and noticed how the doors sounded when you closed them. That is how the Magna sounds and feels when opening and closing.I have several of Mr.Carson's knives from CRKT, and this OE should rank right at the top of his collaborations.Thank you Mr.Bloch.The Impulse and Magna both set a very high standard for future production knives.Raising the bar like this can only do good things for knife lovers and the industry as a whole.

To AlaChoctaw:

Many thanks for all the great feedback and glad to hear you are pleased with your new steel companion.

The Magna was a long time in the making and from the end result I feel it was well worth the wait. Since Outdoor Edge is new to hi-tech folders and the fact that both Kit and Darrel are tough acts to follow, I paid strict attention to detail and pushed our manufacturers for their very best. During the development stage both Kit and Darrel were also rather concerned with quality and the final result. Now that both the Magna and Impulse have been introduced we are proud to have two innovative designs from two great makers who are also proud to put their names on them.

Note that we are not about to stop here. We have several new designs from Kit and Darrel scheduled for release in 2000. More news will be announced as these projects develop.

To Kit Carson, Darrel Ralph and all Outdoor Edge knife owners, thank you for all the support and wishing a safe and Happy New Year.

Sincerely,
