Here is something ya won't see every day. This is a manganese nodule from a deep sea floor. There are millions of them down there, but NO ONE has found a way to get them for use. Well If you work in the paleo field as I did, you can find some pushed up from old deep sea bottoms, as this one has been. It about 1 1/3 lb. and I found it in a sulurian limestone quarry looking for fossils. It even has some iron pyrite crystels on the surface. Possible uses? A small slice forging metal? mixing with other metals for hardness, or just collect because its Very Very rare!!!! I checked prices on others found, and am going below them for this one. enjoy. edgy  THIS ITEM IS SOLD>!!!
Price $120.00

What the hell is a magnesium nodule?

Manganese is a naturaly occuring metal as is copper, gold, iron ore, ect. The nodules are found on very deep sea floors 1-8 miles deep. so its very hard to bring them up, being non ferrous. Manganese is also used in metalurgy for making many blade steels stronger, and is used quite often. (there's most likely some in you're knive you're carrying right now). This one was in an upheaval of very old exposed slurian limestone, and is aprox 425 million years old. Not a heck of alot of those around. enjoy edgy
I'll try to put in one more pic.

I think you mean "manganese" and not magnesium, but cool nonetheless.[/QUOTE
