magnetic bushcrafters?

This is serious, not a joke. My ML kephart and BRKT ultra-light bushcrafter were in the knife drawer together. Pulled one out and noticed that they have a little bit of magnetic attraction. Tested it again, it's a fact. Tested my Koster nessmuk, same thing. Even the Mora 510.

My theory: they've been magnetized by my knife block. Can this be?

Yup, it happens if you keep it next to a magnetic object it will pick some of it off. Over time they will lose it and go back to "normal".

If you have a Massive electroMagnet maybe it will take a longer time, but eventually everything but nodymium magnets eventually loses its magnitism.

But don't hold your breath waiting, it will take years.
I have several magnetised screw drivers and knifes going on 10 years a few even on 20 years.

Both grinding and buffing causes causes plane carbon steel to become slightly magnetized. not a big deal, a pass over a demagnetizer and there fine. It doesn't hurt anything, just a bit annoying to have filings cling to the blade when your finishing.
