Magnetic Knives?

Every time I open my knife case, one of my steel liner knives is stuck to the pivot of my Spyderco T-Mag. Does that count?

Hah! I have a Cold Steel Paradox that I modded. I stuck a powerful magnet onto the knife and forgot about it. This was before the mod. It was a failed attempt at making a magnetic latch. When I ground the tang on my belt sander, I had metal filling all over the blade! And the liners had become magnetized too. Really annoying!

Thank you guys for the answers.

I've been doing some research on the subject and it seems that a lot of processes can magnetize a knife, like machining, grinding, sharpening, polishing, welding, laser printing, among others.

I also saw companies offering demagnetizing services for surgical instruments to avoid contamination by eventual metallic particles attached to the instruments, being that one of the disadvantages of magnetized blades.

I wonder if carrying a magnetized folder in your pocket or holding it for long periods of time can have any negative health effects.

Personally, I would be more concerned about the cell phone, laptop, microwave, iPad, and toxins in the food and water we all ingest than a little magnetism on a knife blade. Hell, getting cut with the knife would be a bigger concern.
