Magnetism vs. knife

I use a magnet when I'm grinding tapered tangs. Consequently, almost every tapered tang knife I make ends up magnetic.

1. Does this matter to knife users? To knife collectors?
2. Is it worth de-magnetizing?
3. If 2, then do the cheap demag's work, or do I need one of the more expensive electric demag devices?

Thanks :)

If the knife you make is a SHTF go-to knife, keep in mind that magnetism may mess with a compass. Exept for that, I don't see a problem.

Yep, a cheapo demagnetizer is a shop tool that any shop should have if you use magnetic holding devices.

Also if you have a soldering gun you can use it to demag. your parts by moving them through the area between the element. This is how I did it before I got my enco one.
