Magnitude availability

Looks just like the Rubicon except for blade shape and brown G10 instead of orange. The smooth action is the same as on my Rubicon. Looks like a very nice knife.

I handled one today at a local knife shop. Reminds me very much of the Rubicon. The carbon fiber scales are great. Action is good, but the detent on the one I handled was light. Not a fan of the brown back spacer or pivot color. The orange on the Rubicon looks better IMO. The Magnitude suffers from the same issue the Rubicon had. The liner lock is uncomfortable to disengage. Sounds nit picky, but it suffers from the same issue the original Gayle Bradley had. It's also got a rough edge so to speak along with the gimping. This to me is a design flaw, but others may not be bothered by it. Overall a nice knife, love the blade shape. For the $280 plus, I feel it should have a more premium steel than s30v. There are similar knives with much better steel at that price point that I would personally choose. I think we are paying for the custom makers' name here. Overall I decided to pass. My Spydiechef will be here Saturday and IMO is a much better buy for the $$.

I really really wish this was in a better steel. M390, 204P, S110v, S90v, XHP, I mean anything but s30v. I know its a good steel but for the price I would like a better steel. The FRN manix in S110v and XHP is 80-100. Even the G10 version in s110v is 125. I work extensively with carbon fiber. You guys all know that. I work with ALL carbon fibers. 1x1, 2x2, colored 1x1 & 2x2, Marbled cf, shred cf, lscf, lf2, glow carbon fiber, and many more. Many carbon fibers are 5-12 times more expensive than g10 and 1-3 times the cost of titanium. Its expensive stuff. But for an extra 160 or even 180more than the g10 manix s110v...could we get the cf AND some better steel. I know the titanium ads some to the cost as well.....

Sadly I do love the design and will still probably want one...even thought its just s30v.
