Hi Magnum22, was wondering how you came up with your forum name. Does it come from a fondness of .22 magnums or something else?

If this has been asked before I apologize...

Thanks,

Heber

wow, sorry i missed this bud. yeah, that has somethin to do with it, i do like .22's and i do like some magnum calibers. nothin against the .22magnum but nothin for it either. my initials are the first three letters, MAG, and the queen of my guitars is a Custom22 from paul reed smith.

i've been MIA the past month, hardly got any human contact. sorry wildman.

That's as strange a twist as can be. I always thought you just liked the .22 mag. In a world of heavyweights, 44's, 454's, 475's and 500's, Remington Supermags and custom wildcats, it was refreshing to find someone who liked the .22 mag

just goes to show these handles we invent can be personal and have meaning not apparent.

i appreciate the caliber but i prefer the .17's. if they weren't around the 22mag would enjoy a higher rank. you already know i favor the 454 because it can also chamber the lighter 45lc. my fav mag's probably the 357. favorite caliber overall? tough one. that sounds like a good thread.

.357 ditto. More through circumstance and familiarity than actual ballistic hoo haw. Very versitile. .38 wads, birdshot, etc. My friend, who recently died, left me his old Blackhawk convertible 9mm/.357:cool: . I've known that gun 25 years or more:( :) Yeah, could be good thread, 22, a classic if not over done to squabbling over fps:yawn: ;) .

My feet per second are more glamorous than your feet per second.

hah, screw fps!

i guess my favorite caliber is the cheapest thing that does the job. wait, don't they have a name for that? i think it's called 'military grade' or somethin like that.

The older I get the more I fire the .22, and yes, even my single shot .22 mag: Because there's nothing to reload and nothing to clean up. (and it's a lot of fun)

I find myself shooting .22 a lot these days too. I like my Mosquito. As plinking space gets rarer and rarer, I find .22s to be more discreet when I am out on some acreage. For great classic whooshing boom, .303 British is probably it for me, although its not really for plinking around these parts:rolleyes:

A guy could do a lot worse than having a Enfield and using the .303 cartridge.
One of the best cartridges I never owned.

either of you guys into mouse guns? 380's or 32's? know any nice ones in 22? there is the firestorm bersa, never touched it, but i'd sure love a cz-83 in .22. oh there it goes, a dream pistol, just happened right there.

No mouse guns here.
I do own a 32 HR SW

Ted, what handgun do you favor?

Oddly enough, my two favorite handguns have 22 associated with them. My Glock 22(.40 cal) is the one I'm gonna grab in the middle of the night, but for shear firepower my Grendel p-30 is freakin awesome. Especially the muzzle blast from a short barrel and 30 rounds of .22 mags. Whoohoo!!!

This isn't my pic btw.

hah, it took me a minute to realize that ted wouldn't want to be associated with that photograph so included the disclaimer. take some pictures, man!
