Delays Ahead: Your Magpul is being perfected
Hello there!

We hope you're as excited about the new Magpul Breslau as we are! We're so grateful you've put your trust in us to bring NEW innovation to the knife community.
No really, it means the world to us.
We were expecting to receive your knife in March, but production of the Breslau is taking a bit longer than we thought. We know you’re bummed. We are, too.
Magpul's just ironing out a few details on your knife. Here's what that looks like:
  • Ensuring the lock functions perfectly
  • The finish looks AMAZING
  • The blade performs to Magpul's exacting standards
But DON'T WORRY! We now anticipate delivery in June. THE GOOD NEWS IS: your pre-order is still active and will ship as soon as it’s ready! But if waiting doesn't work for you, we totally get it. We’re happy to refund your pre-order.
Just reach out to customer service with your pre-order information and you can count on us to make it right.
Either way, thank you for shopping with Blade HQ. We look forward to continually serving your sharp and pointy needs!
Have a knice day,
The Blade HQ Team

The under $200 ballpark for folders ain't what it used to be. It's too wordy for marketing to say that it's "comparatively less costly in this era of inflation to be able to cast multi-angle geometric blade shapes instead of machining them by hand."

Pretty sure they're more worried than I am. I preorder all kinds of stuff, have for decades. It's masochistic. Anyway, never in the history of ever have I seen a message like this.

It is interesting. With the three bullet points they listed, it sounds like they're facing unexpected issues with lock performance, finish (blade? scales? both?), and possibly even blade performance. I could maybe understand needing to dial in finishes/textures on some components after taking money for a preorder, but the lock function and blade performance should have been a done deal at that point, especially with the hype video they put out before announcing the preorder. If the finish issues have to do with either the blade mold or handle mold rather than some post-production process, that could turn into quite the lengthy fix.

I'm struggling to not cancel on this one. I can't escape the feeling of they told vendors they would have the product ready for sale when they weren't even done with the R&D. The way they worded that message sounds a lot like they thought they had something that would be good enough only to eleventh hour change their minds. But I'm in this more for the novelty than the knife so I'll just keep grumbling.

Personally, I think they haven't reached their numbers!

They were probably thinking that these would sell out overnight. Everytime I looked, there were hundreds left.

The old worries about MIM technology are still out there. Now with this delay, not making people feel any better.

What they should've done, at least what " I " woulda did... Make them, give a few out to people in the industry, and tell them to flog the $h!+ out of it.

All while recording it, to show just how tuff the knife is. Putting on a big production, before the product is ready... recipe for disaster. 🤨
