Mail Box Total Surprise

As a new face around here, I must say that I had no idea how generous folks were to one another within the community of knife enthusiasts. I was taught as a child that gratitude and giving go hand in hand and if that’s true this community must be very grateful for one another.

I'm glad to hear that such an act of kindness was bestowed upon you, Randy. The person, or persons, behind this truly has a heart of gold. I'm hopeful that good things are headed their way, as well. Way to go!

That is a wonderful gesture of generosity and good will, and I could not think of a more deserving recipient!

Congratulations, Randy! Someone was certainly looking out for you and knew you needed a nice little infusion of knives to get you back on the wagon (or would that be off the wagon...):D.

Regardless, it is great to hear from you and the tremendous gesture of goodwill couldn't have been given to a better guy.

Guy's you don't know how much your kind remarks mean to me. I've been in kind of a dark place of late and it is very inspirational to know so many of you think well of me. Even though this is technically just a forum on the internet where folks can share thoughts on a common hobby. I have however found that this little sub-forum that has been lovingly renamed "The Porch" is so much more. It is a place in cyberspace where friendships are born, nurtured and grow into a family that has genuine care, respect, concern, and love for each other. And if one of the members enter into hard times regardless of the reason health, financial or emotional the folks here reach out with both concern and respect.
So thanks to all of you for being the kind of people you are I love this place and know that at anytime day or night I can find a friend here. If any of you ever need me I promise I will be here for you.
Randy

Well, as they say, you get what you give. You've been a source of inspiration and kindness for many members for quite a while here. No surprise that you are getting that back at you now. We're all in your corner, Randy!

Knife nuts are some super special folks.
Every time I see an act of kindness and generosity like this(which is quite often)here at the porch it just touches my heart. It throws me back to my childhood as a boy visiting my grandparents and uncles in Kentucky. Even a man near there that my Dad would do gun trading with. These exceptional people were all just like you fine folks here at the porch.
No matter where we went and who we visited , someone would slip a nice new Case knife into my hand or pocket. Almost every visit to Kentucky family would find me coming home with 2 or 3 nice Case knives. As a young man(8 to 12 years old) there was nothing better. Something to handle and plan big dreams with while visiting and the long drive back North.
The porch and the great folks here take me back to that wonderful time in life and the great folks that have passed on.
Thank you folks for continually sparking up the wonderful memories in me.
What a great bunch here. Makes me proud to be here.
Kansas, who ever you are , Top Notch!
Mr Redden, enjoy those sir. You deserve them for sure. Keep your head up and know the folks here are always here for you.

Burnt Stag.

Randy you deserve it buddy! Whoever did this: right on! You hang in there buddy, I get what you mean about dark times; sometimes even a single knife will brighten your day or week, but that is a truly exceptional package. Stay well my friend, life always gets better, as long as we give it time.
Thanks, Neal

As the recipient of the remarkable generosity of the porchosphere, I’ll testify to the swell of good feelings you get. And if you’ve been struggling with something serious, it’s a golden light in the gloom.

Good call on sending a radio electrician! Everyone needs one of those.
