I'm not mailing a tremendous amount of knives and such, but probably a dozen or two a year. The easy way is to use priority click and ship from my office desk, BUT you are tied into the set prices. To get the cheaper first class rate requires a trip to the post office as USPS online will show first class rate but not let me buy it, only shows premium. It probably saves 5 bucks to drive to the post office, but I don't always have the time, more likely I don't have the time. Also -I have a scale.

What are others doing? I don't want to conflate the question by adding insurance in so lets leave that out.

I am open to suggestions on how not to make the trip to the post office and how to save some money. Thanks in advance

Use Pirateship. You get better prices and can ship first class.

When I was selling, the best option was PayPal G&S which allowed me to compare pricing for various methods of shipment and choose the cheapest available. This was very convenient.

If I use PayPal F&F, my only choice is to use the USPS site which only allows shipment by Priority Mail but, then again, there are no Paypal (and, if you use it, eBay) fees.
