Hello everyone. Recently my apartment complex has changed the rules, and we are no longer allowed to have BBQ grills (which my old coal forge was a modified version of). Because of this i now need to purchase a small, fairly mobile gas forge(which i can take off the property and out of the way). Im looking into getting a 2 burner forge from either majestic forge or diamond back iron works. But there is about a $100 difference between them. Could anyone tell me if there are any real differences or if one is better then the other? Also what about diamond backs economy line of 2 burners? I dont do a lot a forging and mainly do stock removal, so I need it for heat treating 1084 steel up to about the size of a large bowie at max.

I have a majestic, I like the 2 burner with them both being adjustable. That's the deluxe one. I love mine. It was recommended to by Michael presnell.

I have a diamond back economy forge with two burners. It is a fantastic forge and gets plenty hot to forge weld, if that becomes something you get into in the future.

I know you mentioned those two, but neither of them are portable. Only one forge comes with a handle. Nor do they have a round chamber, which is preferred by many bladesmiths. Stacy's (probably)going to come in and tell you to build your own, which isn't a bad idea. A home-built round forge will be a much better bladesmith forge than any square chamber forge, especially for heat treating.
