A few years ago, when I lived in the Ozark forests of Missouri, some numbnuts was running around locally setting fires. A few of us saw the same pick-up truck at various places where fires developed. We gave the license tag number to the local sheriff; he said he couldn't do anything unless the guy was caught in the act.

That evening bunch of good ol' boys paid the arsonist a personal visit.


The fires stopped. ;)
