Hi guys,

I want to buy a Cold Steel Khukri Magnum machete, but the handle seems to be poor.

I'd like ton know how could I do for fixing a micarta handle on it.
I have some micarta that I could use, or even some Esse's handles.
I don't have the machete yet (will buy or not according to your answers), so I'd like to know how the "full tang" looks like.

Here's what I'd like as a handle.
Thanks.

Well, I searched for pictures of the Kukri Machete from Cold Steel looking for any picture that shows the edge of the handle to see if it was, in fact, a full tang.

According to this picture...it is not.

Looks to be a stick tang inside a synthetic handle. Now, you can get a block of micarta and make a handle like a normal hidden tang knife. Or, if all you have is a set of scales, you can mark where the stick tang would go on each scale, then take a router or dremel with a router bit or cutter bit and relieve the area where the tang was marked. Then you can glue the scales together to form a block with the cutout already there for the tang. Shape and finish as usual.
