Howdy all! This is my first time posting a thread like this so if I need more information or photos or anything please let me know.
I received this rebladed Emerson Commander a couple of months ago in a trade. Ugly as sin but the more I looked at it the more I saw it as a blank canvas. I have always wanted a waved Emerson Persian and I love the ergos of the Commander series so this combination should make the perfect specimen.
I was told that it is made out of m390. It is thicker than the stock blade and doesn't have the washers anymore as there isn't room. Still pretty smooth and with no blade play.
I know I want it with an upswept Persian style blade with a wave. Prefer a full flat grind or a high flat grind with a swedge. Not opposed to a high hollow grind though. I would also prefer to at a thumb disk as well. Since the blade is pretty darn thick, I would also like it to be tapered to the point.
Please contact me either through this thread or via PM or Email if you are capable of working with this steel and want to undertake these drastic changes. Thanks to all the BladeForums makers and craftsman for looking!
I'll add some photos shortly.
