Opus One! Great stuff. My wife and I enjoyed a 2006 bottle earlier this year. I think I paid a little over $150 for the bottle.

my bottle was a gift in 1998 :thumbup:

here in New England my bottle would prob sell for $250-$300...the 2006 prob about $175...both = delicious!!

Oh man. I haven't had a glass of O-1 in a long time. It would be fitting while fiddling with an old-school BBSHSH or SHBA.

What did that bottle cost you in 97?

I'm a big fan of the blended jumping kangaroo wines these days. (I can't remember the name. Pretty sure it's got a jumping kangaroo on it.) Cheap and full of interesting flavors.

But a buddy of mine is a REAL wino and came over over hte winter. I pulled out about 10 bottles I've never opened.

He grabbed one. "Do you know what this is???" I didn't. Nor do I remember the name. Something French. LOL

It was dandy. He said by pure accident I had been given a great year for that wine AND left it for the perfect # of years to maximize the flavors. In 2 years, it'd be a lesser wine. Who was I to argue. Heck, he could have just wanted to open it and handed me a line of BS. ROTFL

Dennis, got the opus one 1997 for a gift but if i had to guess it was somewhere around $175 then??

I had the 86 and the 90...both were superb:thumbup:
