Maker's Distinct Design Features

JD Smith MS also has his own style with great damascus and lots of filework.

You knew I'd pop up somewhere Bagwell's Hell's Belle Spanish notch, big guard and coffin handles. Even the style of his clip is kinda distinctive and often copied.

That's a good example JP, as that style cable damascus seems to be very distinctive to Bill Bagwell's knives. Don't recall seeing many other patterns on his knives.
Quite a few other makers also have their signature patterns which they have developed and use regularly.
That's one thing I love about damascus, it just gives the maker another opportunity to be unique in his designs and display his talents.

Other examples of maker's distinctive and regularly used damacsus patterns would be:

Harvey Dean's crisp & clean ladder pattern:

Jerry Fisk's Wolftooth pattern:

Anders Hogstrom's unique style and wonderful sheaths. It's always easy to spot his knives.

You Sfreddo fans must be away from the computers this weekend as Rodrigo's integral guard (or semi integral depending on your opinion) has to be one of the most distinct design features in custom knives today.
