Makers in or around New York City?

Hey Everyone,

I recently moved from San Diego to New York City and as a result have no shop to make knives in! I am wondering if there are any makers in the area that would be willing to allow me to spend a day in their shop to make a knife or two.

Here is some of my most recent work. I like to do stock removal and usually make fixed blades, but have worked with frame and liner lock folders as well. I would love to meet folks with similar interests and talk shop as well as work. If you know of anyone who might be willing to let me do this, or even a place in the city where this could happen I would be happy to hear from you.

Thanks,

Jeremiah

I live in CT but work in Manhattan. If you can hop on an express train it's only 45 min from Grand Central. My goal is to start making framelocks and you are obviously much further along than I am so I'd live to pick your brain. My garage shop is small but I have all the "basics". The only problem is convincing the wife it's a good idea. I am also down south for awhile right now but PM me if your interested and I'll work on the wife angle when I get home.

Hey, thanks for the replies! I will get in contact with you guys and hopefully we can set something up!

I can vouch for Jeremiah's skills and I am not just saying that because he is my son. :) He is the one that got me into making knives to begin with almost 10 years ago. Hope you get a chance to hook up with some makers in NYC Jeremiah!
