makers mark/ puttin your name on it

Matt: I liked the bowl when I bought it, her art was absolute top in my book. I took good care of it, the $8,000 almost makes me want to lock it up, but, I won't ever sell it, so it is simply a beautiful $28.00 bowl. Just a tip, others bought them at that price, watch the garage sales!

I also think the filework is a good idea. J.D. Smith has done this on some blades, but he simply uses a stylized "S". I think this sort of abbreviated mark has a few benefits. It takes up little space so that you can put it on either the top or bottom of a ricasso, and, if you do put it on the spine, it doesn't overwhelm the entire knife design. Neither does it make all your knives look "alike." It also doesn't interfere with the utility of a "using" knife.

Good luck,

John
