Makers Mark

Take a look at Corbel and Libel Suit. They are simple, but a little unique. I probably got them both from dafont.com.

I just laid that idea out on my sign-making software and if you overlap the U's, it looks like KFWSA. However, if you offset the USA a little lower, it's pretty interesting.

Thanks Mrn8! Is there a way you can do it in Georgia font like this
KFU-USA
and

KFUUSA WITH 2 DOTS INSTEAD OF THE - SYMBOL?

im going to email the stencil maker to see if overlapping affects the quality of the stamp at all

Is this what you're looking for? I wasn't sure on where you wanted the dots.

Im liking the top one like this
KFU-USA
OR
KFU/USA- THIS ONE THE MOST

Where is Warrior and his fancy design program when you need him!
You rang? Okay, there's nothing overlapping here, but gives you an idea of some of the fonts floating out there. I realize not all these would be favorable, but I just liked the font on some. Also, the / mark on some don't really go with the font, but that's because it wasn't included in the font package. Okay, here's 40 of them, enjoy:

You're welcome. Which one do you like, if any? Some obviously would work better than others.

I like a bunch of them. Im gonna have to look at them when I get home on the PC.
I wanna pick one clean one and one cool one.

Yeah, I like a bunch of them too. I had other fonts, but I knew a post only handles 40 photos, hence the 40. Besides, too many choices kinda sucks sometimes. Harder to decide.

I tried to envision how much letter edge detail would be lost in the etching when placed onto a patina'd blade. I couldn't narrow it down to 3....so.... my top 4 favorites are...

#32 (Really Really cool, but kinda has an asian flair, so not sure if it fits the "USA" theme....I dig it though!!!)(First Place)
#23 (CLEAN and would be a VERY easy etch to see (Second Place)
#39 (Again similar to #32, but might be harder to read on a dark blade.....I LIKE IT THOUGH!!! (Third Place)
#27 (Neat easy to read font.....Fourth Place)

I like #22 as well, but I think the swooping K makes the F look like an E.

Some of the others are great designs/styles, but if you print them out and stand back and look at them...they are kinda hard to read.

There ya have my 2 cents.....Doesn't buuy ya much and sure don't know if it helped any.;)

They are your knives Chris....I'm sure we'll all be happy with whatever you pick!!!!

PS - I like the "new logo for every year" idea....It'll make collecting and aging the knives MUCH easier and more fun!!!

There are some that definitely would not work. So much for too many options. Here's some more :D :

I also like #58 & #62 from the second list!!!

Chris...are you thinking about keeping all of the letters in a space about 1"Wx.25"T on the blade? or are you going BIG???

Anyone else's eyes starting to cross . . . . :)
My, uh, "our" vote would be for #23, good clean lines, easy to etch, and easy to distinguished.
Chris, one question, will the type of font effect the cost ( the more detailed, the more costly ??? ). Might be something to consider, and maybe worth sending your engraver 5 or 6 samples to quote. But I am like everyone else, whatever is chosen, it's all good in the end . . . and now we can "collect" your model's each year and have a guide as to the year they were made.
Be safe.

The "Tennessee" font at the top of that linked page would work and it would have a cool "subtle" connection to the blades!!!
