I'm going to be ordering my makers mark stencils soon but didn't know if I should differentiate between the forged knives and the stock removal knives. An example would be to mark the forged knives with "Scoli Forge" and the stock removal knives with "Scoli". I didn't know if I should do something like this since I will be doing both stock removal and forged. I don't want to mislead any potential customers when I finally get my quality up high enough to actually sell them. Any insight into this would be appreciated.

I wouldn't over complicate things or worry about it. Just mark them all Scoli.

IMHO:

Scoli Forge is a brand.

Scoli is a name.

Up to you to decide which you prefer, as a custom knifemaker, I mark with my name, as an artist or craftsman signing his work. If I make a run of production or semi-prod stuff, I'll mark them with a brand, as to not dilute my name. If you're going to make customs, one offs, whatever, I'd mark with a name.

That's a good way to look at it javand. In the beginning everything is going to be a one off. The game plan as of right now is to make whatever I feel like making at the time. If it meets my quality standards I have set for myself I'll mark it and try to sell it. I'd like to keep it simple in the beginning until I get some experience under my belt.

Thanks for the feedback.
