Each of those things that look like starts are actually galaxies composed of hundreds of millions of stars each. The milky way could just as well be one of those blurs a couple pixels wide. That is just one very tiny view of the sky. These are like this in any direction. Galaxies too numerous to even catalog. It does boggle the mind.
