Hi guys, I am making a 2 burner forge. I am modifying and upgrading a preexisting forge made purely out of 6 soft firebricks and a weed burner. For this new build, I have a 7 gallon air tank, constructing two reil/Z/side arm/venturi type burners. I am researching the materials to put inside of my forge, I'm going to get some kaowool and I am a bit confused about what to put on top of the kaowool. Some places I read to coat the kaowool with ITC-100, Plistix 900F, or fiberfrax. I read on a another forum, that before you put the IR coating on, you should put a rigidizer or satanite later over the kaowool before adding the IR coating. Are both coatings necessary? I just want to validate this information and make sure I'm buying the right stuff. I'm thinking that the rigidizer just makes the blanket extra tough and adds another layer of protection in addition to the IR coating.
