So I ordered this knife (Unlimated Wares Xtream G10 Assisted folding knife). I have seen all these videos, and posts about wrapping 550 cord around fixed blades. I was wondering if it is even remotely possible to do this to a folding k for. The handle on this one is perfectly fine, just it seems like I wouldn't be able to do this to a folding knife. Especially this one.

If you wrapped the entire handle, you wouldn't be able to close the knife or it'd cut the rope. Or if you wrapped it entirely with the blade already closed, you wouldn't be able to get the knife out.

I don't think you'd be able to wrap the handles individually either as there wouldn't be room between the blade and the liner/frame for it to fit.

You can probably give it a wrapped look by cutting and gluing the paracord, but it might make it pretty bulky. Even if you gutted it first.

Yeah I see what you are saying. I never thought it would work, considering the blade has to close. What about engraving or acid etching? On a black knife like that. I just want something to make it stand out from the others.

Welcome. Is this the knife?

I suppose you could strip the coating off the blade....maybe sand it down and put a mirror polish on it....or on just parts of the blade.
