I have been doing some serious Overtime at work and want to spend some on making a disk grinder. I have a spare 2hp reversible motor. I would like to make a stand with the motor underneath and on a pivot with a 4 pulley stack. Then on top mount a shaft on pillow block bearings and have a 9" disk on one end and a 12" the other. Mount a adjustable table I have laying around on the 9" end. My questions are.
Source for the disks. I could make them but, would prefer to spend time in other ways. Didn't grizzly have a separate steel 12" disk for sale. Can't find it in catalog.
Can I just use a couple pillow bock bearings or do I need to use some kind of thrust bearing in the set up. If so what is a god one and a way to mount it. I know there are some make a disk how to threads, but, search doesn't show them.
Thanks again Jim
