Hi all thought id share a project im doin. This is by far the biggest monster ive built!
Its 1/4" O-1 x 14 1/2" x 3". It is a single bevel hollow grind that ends in a chisel, right now its finished to about .050, i it will get damascus or mokume bolsters, camo micarta scales, everything will be bolted and removable, and bead blast finished! Lots of firsts for me on this one!:o GHaile

Nice looking hollow grind. Compound grinds are fun, in a pulling-your-hair-out-while-getting-a-tooth-pulled kinda way. :D

Damn, that grind looks nice. It'll be a looong time before I will be able to make a grind like that.

Thanks for the compliments guys!!! I use an 8" contact wheel for the hollow and a plunge guide, the rest is freehand.
I'll post some updates and plan on doing some more.

Got the handle milled out, and all the holes drilled and chamfered im gonna press fit 3/16 brass rod, than tap and die after heat treat, i did some cleaning up where the blade runs into the guard, so far its coming together well, the owner picked a camo layered micarta for the scales, im still working some details with putting some Ti behind the damascus bolster and pommel, or just mill them into the scales, and make each side 1 piece instead of 3. I havent weighed it yet, but it feels real good in the hand, the blade will be doing ALL the work with that piece of 1/4" behind it!:D
Heres some pics..

Coming along very nicely! I like the smaller ones too

Yep, that's MY baby! Lookin good Greg. Im looking forward to building a sheath for it. I'm gonna name it "Samson". The advertisement will go something like this: "Weather your performing basic bushcraft, or taking vengeance on a thousand uncircumcised Philistines, you want "Samson" on your side!". :triumphant:

SAMSON is a beast for sure!
Here it is back from heat treat with brass set in and the ss bolsters cut, im gonna heat blue those than mount another layer of ss damascus (shown) on top. Im gonna push to get it done before the show, either way he'll be on the table! Chris designed this monster and does great kydex work im lookin forward to building its little brother!
