Hey guys, Since we can't find what we want out there or they're to expensive, we are in the design/construction of a new CNC machine and I would like your input. I will make knives on it and test it but would like your ideas (knife makers) to make it the best it can be, what do you want/what would you like? We want to keep it affordable so we're not looking for high priced accessories (i.e. lasers, water cutters etc), but we want it to have quality and be user friendly. The first one will be a 4x4 table, able to use hand held plasma cutters and machine mounted ones. Any suggestions or wants would be appreciated. Thanks...

I take it you are planing to make a frame or arm and make the torch travel on it contrpoled by 2 presison motors controlled by a computer. I would think it doable for the home guy and a very interesting project. The cost of cutters has gotten reasonsable and good motors of the type are availble, Keep us informed. I like it Jim

Ohh yes! We're even making the software for it. All the ones we see you need a dedicated computer with it, that's crazy (and more expense), with that environment! ours won't~!

thank you Dennis, we've already checked them sites out (good stuff). It won't be our first machine, one was made about 10 years ago but the tech is way better now, and cheaper! and ours will be a 3 axis too.
