Making a small fire with a Large 21 - photo heavy

....... just wondering, is this a "beach" or a crater lake of a volcano? :-))

It's actually a pretty spot, but the camera was mainly focused down, so it does look a little like we are preparing for a human sacrifice to the Volcano Gods. I'm working outta town right now, but might post some more "cheerful" beach shots when I get back home.
 
GREAT! Loving it. Good job on all the shavings. I always start a fire with shavings and/or manmade tinder(cotton balls with vaseline, and cloth coated with resin in a duct tape pouch are two of my faves) I find that pine needles and elaves dont usually burn hot enough to get a fire really going with anything other than the driest of wood, or unless you use massive quantities of them which just results in lots of smoke and too much floating ash in my area.
