was not sure where to post this question anyway is there any resources or info on making a shoulder harness sheath you know like the one for pistol s except i am interested in making one for my big sticker

Couple of ideas.

The actual harness part can be bought from the various holster makers such as Galco, Bianchi and so on. That might be a good option.

As for the holster itself, see if you can rig up a temporary one out of thick canvas or something so you can try various angles to hang the knife from. You don't want to go through all of the work of making one to find it's uncomfortable. A major consideration is whether the knife will hang straight vertical, slight can (what I would think would be best for drawing) or even upside down, either straight or with a cant.

I've seen a couple of kydex rigs done for pig stickers that were slightly canted with the handle forward. Of course they were designed to be carried over clothing. Are you wanting this one to be concealed or open?

I've done a bit of leatherwork and designed and made a Huckleberry (think Doc Holliday) rig for a pistol once that was quite fun. Just e-mail and I don't mind to help you with any suggestions.

Make a working model out of cardboard and duct tape. Its strong enough to where for fit and feel. When you get it to where you like it cut the model opened and you have a permanent pattern.

i was looking at some galco and bianchi holsters online one thing i noticed is they are sold by either a left hand model or right hand model. by right hand are they refering to the holster on your left and you reach across and draw with your right hand? i will want the holster on my left and and to draw knife with my right hand would this be considered the right hand model?

Hello Bladecarver,

I build quite a few adjustable, leather shoulder harness for my customers. Both tip up and tip down, worn on the front or the back at an angle for easy draw, with left or right hand. You can view some photos of them under the 'Leather Sheath" section on my Web-site. www.sunrisecustomknives.com Hope this helps.
