Just received a WH spearpoint in amber bone from Knifeart. I will do a review after I play with it for a while. It has caused me to wonder, how do you process bone to arrive at the red/amber jigged look. Is it dyed in a specific solution, do you use an itty bitty router...

Anyone care to fill me in. This is quickly becoming one of my favorite handle materials. Anyone else like it?

Sam.

The jigging can be done with a dremel or othe hand tool. as for dying I've heard of people using coffee, show polish, and potasium permanganate to color the bone. I have experimented some with bones from the pet store the white is nice and even saw a friend make a knife with one of the smoked ones(looked somewhat like oosic)
