carful with your paracord. There are two types of cord. cheap stuff which is cored (the center of the cord) with nylon fibers, when cute it looks like cotton. and the good stuff. this is cored with nylon thread. anywhere from 5-9 threads. I would look for the good stuff can get really cheap on e-bay. got 2000' for $50. look for 550 cord this is the good stuff and is a military term for the rope (550 is almost never the cheap stuff).

For the lanyard I would go pick up a cheap knot book with a plaiting chapter. most often you are looking at 4-6 cord plaits. if you need any other help i have a library of books and can send you examples if you need. good luck
